Increase strength and energy.
Increased mental and physical capacities, and recommended for many different
ailments.
How it's supposed to work?
Not really known. Ginseng
can affect the neurotransmitters in the brain. It also has some effects
on glucose metabolism.
Does it work?
There are no studies that shows
that it works.
Is it safe?
Side effects include
nervousness, breast enlargement in men, anemia, impotence, fatigue,
ulcers, heart failure, dementia, stress, skin problems and electrolyte
imbalance.
"Ginseng Associated
Syndrome" (GAS) may occur with long term use, and can cause
diarrhea, nervousness, agitation, insomnia, high blood pressure and
increased heart rate.
