Friends of Karen, Inc.
Friends of Karen is a children's charity providing financial,
emotional, and advocacy support for children with life-threatening
illnesses and their families. Families caring for catastrophically ill
children need assistance to meet the extraordinary financial and
emotional demands of their child's illness. It is Friends of Karen's
goal to help maintain the highest quality of life and prevent the
financial and emotional collapse of the family unit.
Friends of Karen achieves its mission by :
 | Providing direct financial assistance with medical care and
illness-related expenses. |
| Offering bereavement support for parents who have lost a child and
for siblings who have lost a brother or sister. |
| Serving as an advocate for the children and their families before
government and private agencies. |
| Investigating resources available to the children and their families |
This year at our annual Brunch at Flowerfields, the Suffolk Pediatric
Society is proud to offer support by sponsoring a Silent Auction with
the proceeds benefiting Friends of Karen, Inc.
